Aquila nylgut oud strings at no cost for testing

Hello Oud-lovers,
I have just finish to make the new Aquila oud set made in Nylgut (it is the first syntetic gut: no nylon, no carbon). First test made on an Oud make a very beautiful sound, Superior to any nylon string. I am happy about my work!
If someone have interest to verify personally on his Oud about the the nylgut performances please send to me a mail: I will send immediately to him and at no cost a single nylgut top string 'C' note (for Arabic tuning) or a 'D' top string for the Turkish tuning.
You can find me to
aquila@aquilacorde.com

Mimmo,

Some questions.

1. Are any of the Nylgut strings wound?

2. If yes, of the oud set you created, which ones are wound, which ones not?

3. What are the tensions of the strings for the Turkish Set, and for the Arabic set?

4. What scale lengths did you use for the Turkish and Arabic set?

To everyone, let's show some support for Mimmo, since I have heard great things about these Nylgut strings. They supposedly have a much warmer sound than nylon.

Hello Jameel, Zul, friends,
thank you very much about your answers.
My mistake: two top strings, not one for your test to make a paied string.
This is usefull to ear what nylgut is about the sound.
I am sorry but I haven'nt nothing about prices.
My goal at the moment is to make a set that work.
About the sets that I have made:
one is the nylgut copia od a Turkish la bella oud set called OU 86, the other set in arabic tuning is a copia of a Pyramid set of unknow provenience. I have some strings useful to make copia a German player that live here in Italy and that is a very, very good player. he have 4 istruments, almost. The tension are exactly the same of the original sets.
Well I have made 1st and 2nd plain nylgut and the rest wound silvered copper wires on nylgut multifilament, not on nylon like other Firms. I have seen that it is posssible to employ a plain nylgut instead the 3rd string: with nylgut it work, with nylon no so well.

Grazie!
Mimmo

precisation about the 3rd string: at the moment it is a wound string, like on the original nylon sets. I have tested also plain nylgut and I have seen that it work while the nylon no. I need to understand if it is better employ nylguts or wound strings like 3rd strings...
Well, I have'nt no take in consideration oud scales but only the original sets of La bella and Pyramid.

I would be interested in buying a set of these strings. Could you send me the price and the cost of shipping to Toronto? Also, I should mention that I see more and more people using 11 string setups like a Turkish oud setup, but on Arabic ouds with Arabic tunings. I prefer the top two sets (highest in pitch) to be plain and the rest nylon.

Dear friends, just a precisation:
please can you send to me your requests at aquila@aquilacorde.com ?
I have probelms to write you directly by the forum.
A second thing: I am not in grade to give you a whole set for free.
My intention is to give you, at no cost the top string just for a test.
So, your are in condition to ear the sound difference between nylon and nylgut.
Top strings are: Turkish 1st D strings or on the Arabic tuning 1st C string (two strings, of course)
Mimmo :)
