TABOURAS For Sale!

I am new here but post on the Skeezo Bouzouki forum alot, I thought these instruments may better placed here.

Tabouras is a few years old in Mint Condition, it is made by Tasos Theodorakis in Thessaloniki, it is hand carved from Greek Mulberry with Ebony Fret
board and hand carved Ebony pegs.
It is built Old style with 7 Strings, this is Great for Professional Players or Collectors.
This Tabouras has a nice sweet sound to it and it is very unique in construction and sound.
Price is $800 comes with soft case, picks, strings.
I would rather move these local in N.Y. area...but if anyone is interested please feel free to discuss shipping considerations with me.

I have a nice assortment of string instruments!
But as it stands right now...I have to do a little work on my 63 Maccaferri Copy & get a pickup for my 2005 Maurice Dupont Selmer & get a
pickup for my Cretan Laouto....
I want to retire the 63 Maccaferri to just a studio guitar because it is not replaceable at all, think I found a good solution to pickup the Selmer (
I don't really like the Stimer option). It is hard because these two guitars have such a different sound the Macc is really more versatile but the
Selmer is a Lead Monster!
My Ensemble is starting to play more Clubs and electric is a Major plus in these type of venues.
I always prefer the mic and a Great sound man...but that is not always easy to find.
I bought the Cumbus to help keep my small amount of Oud chops in the fingers and soul after selling my oud last year so I could get a Pro Laouto, the
Tabouras is more special and unique.
Where did you get your Tabouras?
The hardest thing that has made me Love machine keys is the difficulty I have had in the past with ouds it working with the pegs....it seems they are
very sensitive and at times it has taken hours to tune them and more times than not I just get tired and grab a bouzouki, lute or guitar.
The Tabouras is like that.
I guess you oud guys just have the touch or secrets unknown!
All this said I love the sound of the Oud played well....so for now I am an avid & Happy Listener!

Ah......
Those selmer guitars are fantastic, and yes, a lead monster. You can play them with a picking style like a bouzouki, really firm and heavy picking,
not unlike the gypsy style........I love those guitars. afriend of mine recently got one and it's a beast.
My tambouras is a small one with no name, I got it in a shop in Kriti. It's a bulgari actually, but the two instruments are the same, you can string
them like a sazi or bulgari. A friend of mine, has a VERY nice tambouras built by Dimitris Karoglannis in serres, his laouto (nisiotiko) is also built
by him and thats a superb instrument. They are both really responsive.
What pickup you getting for the lute? I've been changing mine around a fair bit looking for the best.....gone from the Archondis with 4 pole pieces
(which was good because that unison E strings cut through SO much more) then Ideal (classic sound, I like it) but needed more brightness so then went
to the Shadow greek bouzouki pickup, which sounds pretty good. But, looking at different ones still. What you got in mind?

I am Really thinking of trying this LR Baggs M1 Active on the Rompogianakis Laouto.
I like it for my Taylor 710 and it gives Volume control on the pickup.
What do you think? Could this work?
