Oud Gift

Hello people,
I am new to the Oud world and to this forum. I have recently acquired an odu belonging to a family friend but know nothing about them or the one I have. I have taken a few pics and read the sticker inside the instrument - which says it was made in Cairo and also says Dandash and Walid Hamido. But these do not mean anything to me and i would really appreciate some help from anyone who can tell me more about the instrument. I think it must be out of tune and would like to know how to tune also. Is my oud a nice one, a beginner one, a professional one???????

Many thanks and i eagerly await any replys

put up some pictures and you will get a better Idea.
walid hamido is a known name in the ouds of Cairo.
it could be a begginer oud or a pro one it depends.

To tune it you need to make sure you have arabic oud strings on it. you can buy some from
http://www.khalafoud.com

the tuning is usualy for a oud with 6 courses ( 1 single bass drone string and 5 more double strings)
it goes from basse to trebble

C FF AA dd gg cc
or
D GG AA dd gg cc

if you dont have the single bass string its ok just use the 5 doubled strings.
