well ihave seen those videos before but somehow i do not like his style of playing when i watch him i feel like i am watching a guitar player instead of an oud player.

He claims to apply violin technique (for the left hand) to the oud. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with what you said :shrug:

I have the same feeling (it reminds me of a guitar sometimes too) but I kind of like that. He does have a tendency to "shred" as well, which I do not necessarily like, but that seems to be common among turkish players...

i know what u mean about the shreding if you do it in the right amount it sounds great but i think this gentlmen over does it cos of that i think he loses the beautiful sound of an oud
