High Quality Professional Iraqi Oud

This Ameer oud was custom-made based upon this Sunbati oud model (shown below in this post) using 2 amazingly beautiful wood types (Indian rosewood
“Sisam” & Lemon) that are known to cause the “harmony” in shape and more importantly the sound quality of the oud.
This very oud actually has a story...... an old oud artist used to live in Baghdad (till 1991) brought some old Indian rosewood (sisam) (for ribs,
pegs, nut, bridge, pickguard and soundboard) from Iraq. The wood was sent to a friend who wanted to make an oud out of this wood pack, but the luthier
declined because he wasn't used to making ouds out of cut and mighty old Sisam wood. To our benifit, the wood was returned and sent to Ameer Iraqi.
Now here is the interesting part of the story: I was always mesmorized by the sound of Sunbati taqasim playing Al-Atlal during his rare interview at
Kuwait TV, and noticed that the soundbox of the oud he played composed of Sisam and Lemon ribs. So I suggested that Ameer incorporates the Lemon wood
alongside the Sisam.....and VOALLA... the outcome was a breathtaking oud (shape- and sound-wise).
See for yourself !!! I just loved it !
BTW, that oud actually belonged to Mahmoud Al-Kuwaiti not Sunbati, but I believe it is the PERFECT oud played by a Perfectionist oudist !!!!

Hi Oud Prof. More details please on Ameer Oud. What is the string length and I notice you have it strung for 5 courses.What tunining do you use on
that utube clip.

Hey Kelly,
The string length from bridge to nut is 60 cm (24 "). Regarding the number of strings, this oud is basically a 6 course oud, but the 6th string was
removed only because my friend is more comfortable playing on 5 strings. So the 6 th string can be installed in just 2 minutes 
The tuning on the oud is F A D G C in that YouTube video clip.
