Oud hicaz (i think) taksim
hallo to all
i'm new in this forum...
i'm from israel and i started playing the oud a year ago and i'm doing army tpgether so i'm playing only when i'm coming back home every to weeks,
without any teacher.
This film is from my cellphone, sorry for the bad quality...
can you please help me with my taksim?
i want to know what i'm doing wrong and also to know the rules of the taksim and how to build it propertly...

Hi idoromano- sounds like you are on your way! for me, what helps is a lot of listening to the more experienced and professional oud players do their
thing with maqam/taqsim. you can learn a lot from close listening, so get some oud CDs or watch a lot of oud videos and so on. A great site for
helping to understand maqam/Arabic music theory in general is:

Playing oud and being in the army must be a bit hard- may the time come when we ALL live in peace and harmony without fighting. more time to play oud
