Thanks to SamirCanada, I have a new project
I now have
One Syrian OUd with a warped fingerboard and a horrible varnish job
A selection of sandpapers
A file
A tin of gloss finish varnish
I'm off to the cellar

whoa!!!!! ... stop !!!! ... whoa!!! ...
please take it from me - one who has been there. whatever you do to your (i assume, cheapie, syrian oud) won't be anything like what an experienced
luthier will do if given half the chance.
experience and knowledge really counts. i promise, you won't be disappointed. please check out the following thread:

Well sand downand re varnish, one new set La Bella strings, and it actually works. I've been playing it down the phone to the girlfriend
