Next Maqam of the month.

you are encouraged to vote for the next maqam to be covered and discused in depth this month.

for the new members:
Maqam of the month is a post where advanced and beginer players share a sound sample of themselves develloping a certain maqam. it can be a peice or a improvisation (taqasim)
modulations into other maqamat are encouraged especialy if they are accompanied with a text analysis to describe the modulation.

these are the sugested maqamat for this month.
as they have recieved little coverage in the past.
remember that transpositions and modulations are also permited so if you where interested in develloping a maqam that belongs in the same family it is fair game.
http://www.maqamworld.com for reference.

if you have other sugestions please reply bellow and I will add the maqam to the poll.

The Hijâz-Kar, namesake of a mountain overlooking the Arabian Indian Ocean, the Red Sea and the Mediterranean Sea is at the crossroads of cultures; But it is difficult for many of us to seize them because it's a great absence of our precious heading Learn to play. The quiet strength of the Al Sunbati Maqam Hijaz-Kar snatches some tears, not from little girls only!Take a look at L'Hijaz'Car, the perfect eastern-western sound mix. click on ELMERAL setting:the oudist is a rocket !

Farid taqsim awel hamsa is hijaz kar kurd no?
Munir Bashir has great taqsims in hijaz Kar, many people say it was his favourite maqam for improvisation.
this one is a little weak, i'll try to upload some other good ones.
