Sorry I didn't get your point. What is this luxurious chair supposed to be? Who made it and for which purpose?

Hi Zalzal,

on the back rest that Arabic script reads "Bait Aoud Alarabi", this Naseers oud headquarters and on the very top left hand corner Naseers signature can be seen in Arabic too among the leaves.

Very nice throne Zalzal, I think that looks cool and comfortable for a long "jalsat tarab" :D

best regards,

Awad

This chair was restored back to beit el Oud (the Oud school/cultural center in El Harrawi house near El Azhar Mosque), it is used by Naseer in his concerts. Here are some pics, in one of them he is playing with Mohammed Abo Zekri, I took these pictures on the 21st of August at Sakiat Al Sawy (Takhayyal band and Naseer Shamma Concert)

enjoy!

Ah! So that's the secret! All this time, we mere MikeOud mortals have been searching for better instruments and improved practice techniques, when all we really needed to do was get a bigger chair ;)

I have a throne. It's in my bathroom. Hard to play oud there though. But seriously, that is a very cool looking korsi. ;)
