Cairo journey - can a good oud-shopping be staged?
A close one is going there in 2 days and I am thinking of asking him to buy me an oud. Question is - do the oud-makers have good ouds for immediate
delivery? I am not thinking a state of the art professional type, and I dont want a beginners oud either. Something that does sound good, good enough
to maybe do some studio recordings with. Is it too much of a challenge to just walk into a shop (Maurices shop? Gawharet el fan?) and ask for an oud -
pictures and possibly soundbits shall be sent to me. DO they have good ouds ready or are those only pre-ordered?
