I have a question, as I don't know so well the turkish versions of bayat etc. If for example as is explained in the lecture the seyir of ussak focuses
around the tonic and below, does it mean that in a composition/taqsim when the melody moves above to the octave and above it is considered a
modulation? The lecture is very good but short and obviously each maqam could not of been developed fully, but what are other differences between
bayati and ussak after the meyan (if I use the correct term?)
