Follow up from my first video
OK, so perhaps I should wait a week or so before posting a song I've learned....
The song is called - Üsküdara Gideriken
Here's when I first learned it.... YouTubeVideo_1
And here's where I recorded it again tonight... YouTubeVideo_2
On the whole, I'm pretty happy with it but I feel like I need to get a lot better switching between strings... I'm tuned CFAdgc... And going from
the g or c string to the A string is really not comfortable yet... I guess it's just a matter of practice... but if anyone has any advice to share, it
would certainly be appreciated.
Also, I have a hard time keeping my right hand from resting on the bridge as I play... Any thougths there?

Hey Chris your doing great but I will give you some advice.
The way you hold the oud is not the proper way. You should be sitting strait up with your back off the chair. The oud should be somewhat parallel to
the floor. Your hand is squeezing the oud against your chest thats why your hand rests on the bridge. the pressure of the oud should be felt mostly on
your thigh.
Check here for the proper oud posture.

Also I made a video of my right hand when I play. You will have a better picture of the proper way to attack the strings is. Its more of a going into
the strings then a up and down motion. The movement really comes from the wrist not from the fingers moving the risha like you are doing right now.
