House Concert and workshop in the Hudson Valley
Hello to all! To alleviate my frustration about having to travel 100 miles to hear some great oud music, I have decided to produce a series of House
concerts and workshops on Middle Eastern and Mediterranean music where I live in the Hudson Valley and lower Catskills. The concert will take place
on Sat. Sept. 27 at 8:30 and the workshop on Sunday afternoon, 1:00. It will give people out of the Greater New York area who a chance to be exposed
to our beloved music in an intimate way, with explanations and demonstrations of the instruments.
Yoel Ben Simhon, and Israeli oud player and composer of Moroccan parentage will be the artist-in-residence. Please e-mail me at shronswrld@aol.com or
send me a U2U if you want more information. If this works, I'm going to keep doing it and bring some of you Tri-State area guys up here to play!
This area is totally ripe for this (close to the famous Woodstock). If anyone wants to do a gig and/or workshop up here, please e-mail me too!

Just a bit of clarification on the last post: Yoel will be here only for this first concert. I'll be looking for artists to do some more if this one
flies well.
