I second that Samir, that was a great video.
I could not believe the mirror finish that you obtained on
one of the wood pieces.

I just noticed this thread guys! That video was a blast to make. The planes are mostly old Stanley's.
Speaking of hand planes. Check out these. I tried almost every one of these this past weekend. Incredible tools. With incredible prices. These are
worth about as much a new BMW. No kidding.

thats superb!
hey Jameel,
what is your take on the low angle planes such as the smoother in the picture.
I have never tried one but I am looking to buy a dedicated smother so I am looking at the LV or possibly the LN.

I have the L-N Low Angle smoother. I like it, but I actually prefer the bevel down bench planes because of the way they feel. I just like the
ergonomics better. The main advantage to the bevel up is that you can change cutting angle by changing the bevel angle. I have two blades, one at 38
degree (included angle) for low angle work (end grain) and another at about 52 for smoothing. If I were you, getting only one smooth plane, I'd get
the LV low angle smoother since it can also work as a shooting plane. The LV bevel up smoother can't.
Samir, check out this recent thread at Woodnet.

Notice that the president of Lee Valley (Rob Lee) chimes in too. I actually met him last weekend. Class act.
