Checkpoint 303 in Washington DC this Friday!
For those interested in the fusion of oud with electronic and experimental music, (and who live in or close to Washington DC), here's an event that
might of interest:
The collective CHECKPOINT 303 will be performing a live dj/acoustic set next Friday Nov 21st in Washington DC. (Not much live oud probably, as this is
not their full live performance, rather an electronic set)

Checkpoint 303 are from Palestine/France/Tunisia, and their compositions are a mixture of middle-eastern breakbeats, improvised acoustics and
experimental field recordings.
Checkpoint 303 has opened for several Massive Attack concerts in the UK and France in 2007 and 2008 and has performed in many countries including
Australia, Japan, Canada, Palestine, Tunisia, France, Sweden, etc. Next week's show is Checkpoint 303's first appearance on the east-coast.
