Tharwat Saber Electric Oud

Hi Folks,:wavey:

does anybody have experiences with Tharwat Saber electric ouds?
I`d like to buy an electric one and the price is about what I can pay. But eventually the sound is the same low as the price?

Here is a link to the site I found it:

http://www.yourworldinstruments.com/product-p/oud-12.htm

Thanks in advance,

Marcus

Hi Marcus, I was looking at them at one point and I couldn't find anyone who would admit to owning one! So I honestly don't know if it's a tourist piece of junk or a playable oud....

I ended up with a Sukkar Electric oud (floating bridge) and while it's cool... I picked it up for about $400 on Ebay... With a little reverb and a bit of EQ, you can make it sound alright... still sounds more like an electric guitar than on oud to me though... But It's pretty much impossible to match the tone of an acoustic with an electric. Same things with guitars too I guess....

Here's a clip I found on Youtube of what looks like a Saber Electric oud...

And here's rebetostar playing his Sukkar....

Good luck....
