Odd that the pickguard covers the small sound hole decoration. You will need to see how much the face repairs will cost you. No rosette means you can check for loose bracing. Bridge looks a little primitive. If I were buying this oud I would check the action and the pegs. If these are ok I would make an offer based on its sound and playability. On looks alone I would be surprised if the seller was asking more than 3 hundred Euros but I could be completely wrong. If it sounds well then decide what you are prepared to pay for such a sound. Good luck. C

Indeed, take really care to the action on this kind of old oud, also to the size of the bowl. On arabic oud, it may be quite big and a bit uncomfortable to play.

Bye it :-)

For 75 euros, I'ld bye it and hang it on the wall! It is a nice peace for decoration :')

When it comes to playing, it is much better to bye a NEW oud. Quality on new ouds is by far much better then just 20 years ago. It will cost you more to repare it, and will never be as good as the new modern ones.
Good luck

Sure, for this price it may be an interested deal.
Difficult to judge by pictures, but it seems nice.

By the way, I didn't saw your location before...I send you U2U.

C'est vrai que it's a good deal!
I have an old syrian "tourist" oud on which I try some improvements.

Going back to english... how it could have been damaged to this point?
Was it shipped in a hard case or in a simple gig bag ?

I think for the neck you will find information to repair it in the forum.
For the bowl I don't really know how you can fix it. I mean it is quite easy to fill the crack, but the best would be to make the ribs closer and glue them together, but I don't know if there is a technique for that.

At least one good point is the face wasn't damaged, so the repair shall not affect the sound of your instrument, even the crack of the bowl I think.

Good luck.

merci francis; oui il etait bien emballé; dans un carton certes; mais entouré de poches d'air; avec la mention fragile; protégé par un matelat en mousse;

suz; yes it was shipped with a simple cardboard bag; but a lot of protection inside;
if the transporter maked attention of the package; it will never be broken;
i am going to repair it by a oud maker
thanks for your post
