Help me Make a set list
So I am now negotiating a contract with a chain of lebanese Restaurants in my town to be their house performer and I'm gonna have a steady weekly gig
playing the Oud! I've been experimenting for the past couple of weeks as far as what kind of music makes the audience react the best. When there are
lots of arabs in, and naturally they seem to enjoy stuff in the "Hebbina Hebbina" and "Alf Leila w Leila" vein a lot more than Sama'is and Bashrafs.
That being said, I would like suggestions for any song in that vein that you think will work a crowd. I received some Abd el Halim requests, but All
the songs I know by him are unbelly danceable to and there's belly dancers who have to dance to what I play. Help me out guys.

Hey Shadi, I also play for dancers.... I've found that Zeina and Leylet Hob work pretty well too.... I'm working on Gamil Gamal right now and that
has a pretty cool swing to it...

Bar... as you can see I play mostly Turkish and Armenian music so I'm not sure if you will like some of these suggestions but we play them for dancers
all the time and they're classics...good luck with the gig, I hope it lasts a long time and you have fun and make some $$$....

I sugest to play the great choice peaces from above, but make them "longer". You don't want to "run out of songs" in the evening, and if you play one
song for 3 minutes, you see...you need at least 30 songs. ;-)
So, put in taqasim, solo darbuka, play the taslim more times - with changes in darbuka rhythm, if you can sing do the "aman, aman" or "of" or "ya
leil" (improvisations "close" to melody line, the closer the better, but slow)....
If they dance, they would love more darbuka solos.
inti omri is favorite as well, balad el mahbuob (a.wahab)
ala dalaouna, ya ein mulayaten - simple, but everybody knows them
