Floating Bridge Tailpiece

Is the tailpiece on an oud with a floating bridge an integral part of, or attached to, the tail block or is it a separate piece of wood glued onto the bowl?

Thanks.

From what I have seen, it is a separate piece glued to the bowl. The tail block is made of soft wood similar whereas the tail piece to which strings are attached is made of a harder type of wood.

I was thinking that it may be a separate piece of hardwood inserted into the tail block, which would seem, to me, more structurally solid. It does seem that in pictures that I've looked at, that it is just glued onto the bowl.
