Maqam tuner project

Hello,

as many of you know it is quite hard for beginners to get the correct pitches for the notes of the various maqamat (including the different intonations for the sikah note in bayati and rast maqamat, the flattening of the F# in hijaz and so on...).

So here is the idea (if it has not been done before): ask to experienced players on the forum to play as accurately as possible the most common maqamat, with their ouds precisely tuned say at 440Hz. Then for each maqam one can analyze the frequency of each note with a computer, and convert it to a scala file (see this link) containing the data. The idea is to have a small library in open access with all these files.

Then these scala files can be used with music tuner software, like
this one which is free, or others. With this one could control the intonation of every note in the maqam with respect to a 'reference' one.

Is it a good idea ? There are some problems to solve (like transposing or variations from country to country) but it should eventually be a useful thing.
