Hi Branko.
Your style is nice.. Your playing is very good
You play well in the high notes and high positions. Good technique.. but never be satisfied with it. Always work on making it better and better.
But I noticed that it's 5 minutes of taqsim on the same style and mood.. which gets boring. You may vary the style and progress differently. Maybe try
to do some interesting modulations, do some modulated parts and return back to the initial mood and maqam. This way it gets more interesting. It is
always the unexpected that attracts the listener.. contrary to when the listener gets what he expects.
Keep up the good work.. and please keep posting recordings.
Thanks

You are absolutely right Reda. As I am self-thought, it is not easy to make a quantum leap on my own. What would you modulate to?
Thanks, Branko

I am self-taught as well. And I don't improvise well at all. I just commented the way I felt as a listener.
You can have many modulations from Nahawand. If it is on C, you can have the upper jins bayati (G, A half-flat, Bb C) or Hijaz (G Ab B C) and play
around those, then return back to the original maqam. You can also have a zamzama jins (C D Eb F Gb) which sounds amazing while playing nahawand. For
example, just play this simple sequence and listen how it feels as a closing phrase (cadence): Eb F Gb F Eb D Eb F G (natural) F Eb D C. You could
also move to Farahfaza or Hijaz Kar of Nahawand on F of Ajam on C if you want a separate part of modulation... The possibilities are endless and
nothing follows rules.. what counts is the good transition between the modulations. If it sounds good to your ears then it is. I wish I could explain
better with words.. but all comes with a lot and a lot of listening.

nice playing Branko, you have a nice touch and I can feel the duende amigo.. Improvising and modulation which works well and is pleasing to the ear is
not easy and we all need to work at it! I believe you were playing in D, so one useful and common modulation would be to the Hijaz as Reda suggests,
if in D you would go the Hijaz in A ( A,Bb,C#,D,E,F,G). I think a oud chord ( where possible) now and then helps to spice things up. Also listen to a
lot of players- Sunbati is a good one, his playing is a text book on maqamat and modulation. best wishes, MW

Nice work Branko.
I must agree with our fellow players. You are in Do so a modulation to Hijaz on sol could work well.
Must catch up sometime
