Oud player in San Francisco
Hello,
I'm looking for Oud players in San Francisco or an ensemble of middle-eastern music to join.
I'm an amateur Oud player that wants to play with a group for fun and for education purposes.
Any advice?
Thanks,
Yossi Chay

Here are a couple of ideas:
Saed Muhssin leads the Arab Orchestra of San Francisco

Elias Lammam teaches an ensemble class in the east bay. I'm not sure how active it is currently, though. Give him a call to check on it.

There is also the ASWAT community ensemble

I hope one of those works out for you - let us know how it goes!
Best wishes,
Nathan

Shalom Yossi,
I live in Berkeley and am a journeyman level oud player (not an ustad). I am always looking for new musicians and musical projects. You can send me
a U2U anytime after August 23, when I return to the US from a vacation in Mexico. (DonĀ“t know how much internet access I will have during this
trip.)
Kol tuv,
John

Thank you John, Nathan & Leon.
I'm really impressed by the fast reply and the playing opportunities around SF.
