Taqsim Rast ( Sombati)

I really like the timbre you get, and your long phrases. What is the instrument?

You picked a hard one there!!! I'm not qualified to comment, but 10 points for even attempting it:)

By the way, have you heard this version?

Great !

I must agree with Fernand and Sazi.. very good attempt and nice old-school timbre and feeling.
That's a very good improvement so far :applause:

You give here an amazing rendition of Riyad Al Sunbati's taqsim rast.
Beautiful phrases well in style and great progression in the taqsim....
Bravo:applause:

Thank you all, I really appreciate your comments
Sombati is still my favourite oud player...
I like his way of taqsims ... He insists on exploring all possible melody combination of "Oukoud" plural of Akd (3 or four notes composing the maqam),
Sofar, I attempted his taqassims: bayati, nahawand, rast and kurd taqsim, and also iraq taqsim (Kuwait TV), However, I am not sure that he has another commercial taqssim...I believe it is in Hijaz Kurd or HijazKar kurd ,.. Please inform me if anyone knows...I need toplay it anyway...
Sazi, I did not see this taqsim before today, but I did followed the real taqsim of Sombati and actualluy, I am still trying to improve my playing of it ...

Sorry Guys, Sombati has Sikah taqssim (slightly different from the one played on Kuwait TV), and also he has hijaz taqssim... I am working on it now....
it is attached below...
So he has on all maqams: Rast, Bayati, Sikah, Nahawand, Hijaz, Kurd except ajam and saba...

Anyone wanna give it a shot???

Thanks for the Hijaz taksim :)

Whatever we can find about Sombati, it's never enough...

I listened to your Rast and OudProff's one : I prefer yours ! I know how difficult it is without the right gear, outside of a studio and without reverb... and you do it very well !
