Scratchy finger sound
Hey all,
I was just wondering if anyone knows a way to avoid the scratchy sound my fingers make when sliding or articulating on the fingerboard. This can
be very distracting sometimes for people listening to me playing. The noise becomes stronger and stronger over the months as my fingers get more
caliced from playing so much.

Hi Revaldo
That sound normally occur when you use a new set of strings not only on the Oud but on most stringed instruments. I dont think it will go off anyway
but it sure will reduce after awhile. Even professional recordings have that kinda sound if you notice.

by using the EQ in recording software
hi revaldo
if you have the equipment (and software) for recordings on your computer for example Apple Garage Band, Apple Logic, Cubase, Protools, Musicmaker...
etc
you can use any (parametric) EQ plug-in to reducethe stratchy sound by scrolling thru the frequency with negative gain and by variations of the so
called q-faqtor
