As to all of Youssef Dhafer's music, I love the more original non-jazz parts. When they fall into that standard shuffled bass-drums-piano jazz thing,
I lose interest. It's largely the pianist who pulls it the way of his jazz chord roots.

This whole piece is so rhythmically complex... these musicians are so incredible.

I did, I just wrote it using a software because I'm not very good at reading music, so it helps me.
This is using guitar pro, oud tuning FADgcf.

time sig of Les Ondes Orientales
The main theme from the beginning of the tune is in 17/8. Not sure how anyone would hear 7/8 or 7/4. Absolutely not. It wasn't the easiest odd time
sig to fiqure out. The feel is 3 bars of 4 and a bar of 5. 12 + 5 = 17. Fantastic. The piano solo seems to be in 7/8. Three bars of 4 with 2 beats
added on. 12 + 2 +14. I use to love fiquring these time sigs out. Now that I'm older I don't have the patience. This tune was so cool I couldn't
resist.

After searching around and getting many wrong answers I worked it out.
It's not too hard but you have to concentrate
It is 39/16
Yes you might think its strange but let me explain how to count it.
7/8 + 13/16 + 6/8
16 beats are too fast to count at this tempo so count it like this and note:
7/8 + 6.5/8 + 6/8
7 + 6.5 + 6
The 7* in the sequence below is only half a beat
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,1,2,3,4,5,6,7*,1,2,3,4,5,6
