What is the best string for this oud?
Hello every one
here is an egyptian oud
Back: Indian Resewood
Soundbord: German Cedar
Bowl Size: 50cm x 36cm x 20cm
Neck length: 20cm
String length: 60cm
Tuning: F C G D A F
What do you think is the best string can I use on this oud?

Nice oud; looks like one of Maurice Shehata's. You can spend the big bucks and buy lute strings or try a set of Pyramid. You'll have to buy the high
ff separately though. I find them as good as anything in the price range; better than some more expensive brands. Brian has a good selection on
oudstrings.com.

I'd try Labella's Turkish tuning set, but replace the trebles with Pyramid Lute 600 & 700 nylons.

The LaBella OU80A set should work fine on this oud of the high f'f' tuning.
I would start there or with the Pyramid 650 orange + separate high f'f'

These strings should be fine, eventually you may want to try the Pyramid "Historical" aka "Lute" strings, which are the finest quality but much more
expensive.
