Eric Andersen, Tara Milton and oud
Hello everybody,
I wanted to alert the few people who might be interested that there is an Eric Andersen new record out where the oud (played by me) features in every
cut. I also play lead guitar and bass on it. Eric Andersen is an American singer-songwriter active since 1966, who wrote classics such as "Blue River"
and "Thirsty Boots", whose songs have been recorded by Judy Collins, Bob Dylan, Roger McGuinn, Johnny Cash, Joni Mitchell, Grateful Dead, etc. The
record is called "Mingle with the Universe" and the songs are verses by the English Romantic poet George Byron on which Eric composed new music. The
oud appears in order to highlight Byron's great love for Greece (he died there in 1821 fighting against the Ottomans for Hellenic independence). The
album garnered excellent reviews and people interested can find it on Amazon or on Eric's website http://www.ericandersen.com. Here's a review http://nodepression.com/album-review/eric-andersen-mingles-universe...
There is also another album out where I played oud, guitar and bass. The artist's called Tara Milton (with The Boy and The Moon) and the album's
called "Serpentine Waltz". Tara played with pioneers pre-Britpop band Five-Thirty and post-rock The Nubiles and he is well-known amongst aficionados
in the UK. The album is accruing excellent reviews and can be found on his website http://www.Taramilton.co.uk. Here's a review plus interview https://louderthanwar.com/tara-milton-interview/
Thanks for your attention, all the best
