Floating bridge oud on C
Hello!
I have a floating bridge oud (57 cm scale) and I want to tuned it on C. Can I use standard arabic strings set like Pyramid Orange Label or Aquila New
Nylgut Arabic Oud Strings?
Somebody can help me please?
Sorry for my english...

The issue is more with the 57cm scale than the floating bridge. The Aquila 13o set will be too light to work. The 650 orange set may work, but the
strings are a bit short and may not reach the pegs (or you may have to use an unorthodox stringing pattern).
Your best bet is a customized set for this purpose, like I offer here:
https://www.oudstrings.com/product-p/lb_acc1.htm
I would choose the following options:
1 c': .0265
2 g: .032
3 d: .024w
4 A: .029w
5 F: .034w (or .033w if you tune to G)
6 C: .044w
Alternatively, you could buy the LaBella OU80A set, discard the high f'f' course and just purchase a low .044w separately.
Pyramid 'Lute' strings are available in a wide variety of gauges as well, but they are much more expensive.
Hope this is helpful.
best,
Brian
