The notation is already finished. I only shared the first page here.
It was really eye opening doing this transcription. Simon's playing is so deliberate. Every note has purpose. There was barely one or two stray
notes...
And his phrasing is like an intricate puzzle.
The modulations were the easy part. But after finishing, I realized... <b>shoot</b>... I've never thought of these modulations before, and
while just listening to it, I didn't really register just how many times he modulated. It took this kind of deep study for these things to really
click.
It was the phrasing that kicked my ass. Figuring out how to group the notes so that when you read it and hear it it makes sense. Which notes are
emphasized and figuring out what notes are down or up strokes and which notes are pull-offs, hammer-ons. There's a rhythm in each phrase, and picking
out that rhythm was the hardest part.
This took me about a month to get to this final draft, working on it almost every day. So yeah, no walk in the park.

I thought the modulation to jiharkah on G was tricky . . . didn't expect that.
It gets a lot easier the more you do it. I think this one took me a couple of days, probably 4 hours all together? The first couple of taqasim I
transcribed took forever, but especially once you learn a bit of someone's style you recognize things much more quickly (which is kind of the point,
right?)
Great job, though—looks almost identical to mine up to that point (though I heard a few things differently and have different ways of writing
certain things)

Yeah this was the first time I've ever really transcribed a taqsim as accurately as possible.
But that's true, Simon uses a lot of the same licks here and there so I can imagine it gets easier.
That was tough, really deciding how to write things. I'm sure there are some things that could be done better.
