Seeking local teachers
First of all, it's awesome to be a part of this forum where so much great information can be found in one place. My thanks to those who make it all
happen.
I am a rank beginner at the oud, and I thought I would ask here about finding a teacher in my area. I am located in southeast Michigan, midway between
Detroit and Ann Arbor. I've tried using Google to find someone, but to no avail. If anyone is able to direct me to an oud teacher in my general area
I'd be most appreciative.
Thanks in advance

Have you talked to Michael Ibrahim? He's in the Detroit/Dearborn area but if there was a teacher closer to you he would probably know. Alternatively
if you make it to Detroit from time to time you could study with him or another teacher there.

I used to take lessons in Michigan with Michael Ibrahim.
I don't know if he still gives lessons.

You can also try asking Detroit-based Armenian kanun player Ara Topouzian; he would know if there are any competent Armenian oudists in the are who
teach. https://aratopouzian.com/

Thanks for all the replies. I'm not sure how I missed Michael Ibrahim in my initial search. I will start following up on the leads everyone has
provided. Thank you
