Wow - that's an incredible lineup! Yurdal Tokcan and Necati Çelik... Göksel, Mehmet... all really heavy-hitters!

Too bad I won't be in the region until September (sigh)...

Hi everyone,

I just received an email from Ross Daly asking that I remind you again of the wonderful music seminars coming up this summer in Houdetsi, Crete (near Irakleio).

Here is his message:

Hello
My name is Ross Daly and I'm contacting you from Crete. I just wanted to inform you that at our musical workshop Labyrinth here on Crete we will be holding two oud seminars this summer, one with Necati Celik and one with Yurdal Tokcan. If any of your subscribers are interested in more information they should click onto http://www.labyrinthmusic.gr . Our seminars last for one week each and the students work with the teacher for about 7 hours a day (actually they usually work many more hours) . We are situated in a small village on Crete which is an ideal setting for doing serious work without distractions.
Best wishes
Ross Daly

I will be attending the second seminar with Yurdal Tokcan from July 21 - 27. Many of my good friends will be attending the Necati Celik seminar which is from June 29 - July 5. There are also many more wonderful seminars going on all summer, here is the full list:

June 19-24 Cretan Laouto Giorgos Xylouris

June 20-26 Saz Mehmet Erenler

June 29 – July 5 Oud Necati Celik

June 29 – July 5 Ney Omer Erdogdular

July 7-13 Kemence Sokratis Sinopoulos & Derya Turkan

July 7-13 Afghan Rabab Muhammed Rahim Kushnawaz

July 15-21 Spanish Guitar Christos Tzifakis

July 21-27 Kanoon Goksel Baktagir

July 21-27 Oud Yurdal Tokcan

July 24-31 Vocal technic of Bulgarian Music Tsvetanka Varimezova & Ivan Varimezov

August 1-7 Composition & Orchestration in trans-cultural modal music Ross Daly

August 7-13 Lafta P.Papapetropoulos – S.Sinopoulos

:)

Hope to see you there!

Take care,

mavrothis
