The easy thing to do is get a pc microphone. They are very inexpensive. Check to see if your sound card can support it. I think most sound cards in this day and age have it. Then you need to use a software to record, windows has this function start-program-accessories-entertainment-sound rcorder but it's not the best. It only records 60 seconds, I haven't been able to extend this.
Make sure your sound card is set to record from Microphone. You might need to adjust the levels.
Cool edit is easy to use and has a lot of functions. Acid pro is another one. You can also search the internet to get freewares, if you don't want to spend money.
After recording you can save the file. I am not sure if the windows recorder saves mp3s. If it's wave you can find a wav to mp3 converter. I am sure there are freewares that do this.
Good luck

Sorry Samir, I haven't used macs since high school. You might want to search in google to see if there are any tutorials. I can't imagine it's that much different than windows.
