Hello fellows...
this is my first rec of playing the oud.. i have no teacher :-(
i have my oud now 7 month...i want to here your mind of my playing....Sorry about my bad english i learnd this from mikes learning videos... they were very very helpfull

Way to go Bilal.
I learned the same exact way you did. And I started with that same exercise. Just keep going at it.
If I can sugest you something... when you sit infront of the learn to play section, you have the basic maqams writen in notes.. go to the video of the
one your focusing on that shows you where the notes are so you can hear the maqam once. then go BACK to the page where you have the basic maqams
writen in notes and play what you just heard while folowing with the notes. That way you'll be able to read notes much faster.
Also... before you play any exercise. play the maqam scale about 10 times before anything you will get a better feel of the song or peice.
Thats just a few tricks I found that work for me.
