UK Stockists
Good day to you all,
I am having difficulty finding oud stockists here in the United Kingdom...can anyone offer some advice as to where to look? A quality distributor of
egyptian-made ouds would be fantastic, but any site will do as I have failed to find even one.
Hopeful thanks,
TCF.

Your best bet may be to order internationally. I can't recall any oud distributors in the UK off the top of my head. I'm not sure what your budget
is but http://www.nileshop.net has a lot of nice egyptian ouds.

Thank you both. I would certainly rather purchase an oud direct from the maker, but considering I crave an Egyptian oud this may not be so
simple...unless, of course, others know of suitably excellent Egyptian sites specialising in hand-made ouds. If not, I may well have to order in from
America, although thinking of an oud travelling from Egypt to America to Scotland infuriates me somewhat (cut out the middle-man!).
As an aside: I viewed your site, Spyros, and I must say that the oud on your title page is simply stunning!

Hi TCF
Ordering an oud from one of the UK-based online traditional music shops is possible - my first oud came from pamelasmusic.co.uk - but whether what
arrives on your doorstep can be legitimately called an oud is open to question. No disrespect to those suppliers, but you would be wasting your money.
I don't know what you're prepared to spend, but ordering direct from Egypt is really quite easy. My recommendation would be to contact Yehia at
Nileshop to discuss your requirements. His email address is sales@nileshop.net.
Best of luck
David
