Wood Colors (Colours ;-)
I doubt that any of you would be as inept as me when it comes to choosing woods. But just in case you are, here is a site that helps in the
process.
http://www.woodworking.org/WC/woodsampler.html
I have found the colours are more accurate when viewed on a CRT monitor (rather than a LCD screen).

Greg, I have taken a basic woodworking class during my college days and it is useful to be able to identify the different types of woods, properties
and uses. Another useful insight is to know what they sound like in general. Here is a link to the tonal color these species of timber exhibit, http://www.benjaminguitars.co.uk/woods.htm
There is a more comprehensive list which I have been meaning to post for some time but I cannot find it now.
