Questions about Aquila strings

Hi guys! I've just put a new Aquila set on my Ibrahim Sukar oud, and it sounds great...I've noticed they're a little thicker than the sets I've used before (I've used just La Bella on this oud), and that Nylgut it's just great. The only problem is that the G high strings, even though in perfect tune between them when picked open, seem to be not in pitch when played around the final area of the neck (I'm talking about the part that is connected to the body), from the D note to the end. I've had the same problem before with a cheap set on another oud, but I don't think it could be the same on this set, it sounds really professional. Does anybody have the same problem? Or find a solution?
ciao ciao Guys,
Giuseppe.
P.S.:The set is CFAdgc.

Giuseppe,

Try reversing one of the strings end for end.

If this happened with a new pair of aqilas, it is more likely that there is a small bump or dip in the wood after the fingerboard.
I would also suggest that you use aquilas turkish set, especially for a Sukar oud. A student of mine used the regular arabic set on a Sukar and it highered the action of the oud drastically.

Thanx a lot Oudman.

Which Aquila Turkish set do u suggest me? I noticed an increasing in tension, but I like it and I think it makes my Sukar sound better, since the action was a little too low (but it's really a brand new instrument, it's been crafted in march 2005). I use the CFAdgc tuning, is it ok using a turkish set?
Thanks,
Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe
I tried the turkish set (d, a, e, B, F#, C#) and that worked well.
I also tried a custom set of aquilas and they worked very nicely. Speak to Mimo (aquilas string maker) in Italy and see what he suggests for the string length of your oud.
You can also speak to Elias (located in Italy as well) in this forum, he is extremely helpful as well.
