removing old soundboard advice.
Can anyone give me any tips on removing a broken spruce soundboard, from my oud??? And perhaps some advice on bracing the new one, and doesit matter
what quality wood you use (grain width)??

This is a delicate and complex operation that cannot be described in this space. Removing the old face must be done carefully to avoid damaging the
body. Depending on the glue used to construdt the oud, you'll need warm water and hot pallette knives to soften the glue and remove the edging first,
then loosen the braces from the body and finally remove the face from the neck and tail blocks. My oud book takes 21 pages to describe the construction of the face and braces. The density of the tonewood can be compensated for by the bracing
design, but this takes a lot of experience to judge and execute.
