All I can say Brian, is that you should have posted this in "Professional Clips". Really nice. Relaxing. Smooth.

Thanks everyone . . . I'm glad people like it.
re: the size of the file, I'm hosting it on my own space, this page just has a link to it.
re: the percussion, I played it myself, then improvised the oud on top of it.
I actually took parts of this improvisation and used them to write a composition. maybe I'll put that up if I have time to record it.

Ok first I was convinced these were sample percussions from a software. Good on you my friend for making me believe that and I have been playing riq
and tabla for practicaly all my life. You get some nice sound out of your mic. Its verry well ballanced... just sweet.
Secondly I believe its time for a 2006 edition of this peice. But seriously please try and record something for us Its always nice to hear.

Here is a sample of my percussions recorded with my pc Mic.
What do you think I should do to improve the sound I get?
Stick Around for the end! I got some Khaligy oud playing a song of Abadi el johar
By the way Iam using the Demo of Audacity so I cant record at full quality.

J.S., I have 2 MXL mics, the 990 and 991. They're unbelievably inexpensive ($100 for the pair), but do a good job.
I don't remember which mic I used on what to record this.
Samir, nice playing--I liked the song at the end.
