Lessons available in NYC

Hi Mike,

This is a cool idea. I am currently located in Queens, NY and am available for lessons on Turkish, Arabic oud, and voice. Please feel free to contact me if you are in the area and are interested in lessons. Any level of player is welcome, from beginner to intermediate.

Lessons!!

Hi Mav. I am interested in learning arabic style Oud with a recently purchased Egyptian Oud I got in Egypt. I am about an hour from Queens in New Brunswick, NJ. DO you teach at your home, and if so how much would that be per session?

I have met Mav at Jurdals Workshop in Creete this year, he is great player, high class, with a lot of knowledge & patience to teach, I strongly recomand him as a teacher.

For the LA area there is the great John Bilezikjian, a gentle, patient, and excellent teacher. Just google his website -Dantzrec.

Maestro Hossein Behroozinia lives in North Vancouver, BC.
you can have a look at his website http://www.barbat.us but some parts of it are still under construction. I am suprised that you were unaware of his presence here in vancouver for he is a world famous musician.

Any teachers in the UK - I am in Portsmouth on the south coast but will travel if need be (as long as it isn't the Outer Hebrides or something). I could do with a bit of objective advice from a more experienced oudi.

I am also from Los Angeles and am looking for a teacher that can teach both Baglama and Oud. I did look at John Bilezkjian's site and he looks like a more than capable teacher; however, laguna hills is a bit far for me. Are there any Oud/Baglama Saz teacher in the West LA area that anyone knows of? I'm a beginner so I don't necessarily need a world class (i.e. expensive) teacher yet. Any contact details would be appreciated! Thanks

I'm also looking for a oud teacher! But in the middle of a desert, so maybe it will be harder to find, as most of people here seem to live in the USA..
