That looks like it was a great time. Thanks for posting this, I love John Berberian's playing. And the clarinet is really great!

BTW the guy leading most of the lines and some of the ones in the line dancing go to dances all over New England, N.Y., N.J., and PA. Check out all the kef and Tomzara videos on youtube. Perfect place for you to show your talent.

Ha! You know what's funny? I just realized that I know Khatchig Jingirian. He lives in San Francisco, I guess he is the one singing here.

Very funny that I didn't notice before.

Next time you go to one of these events in the area, please let me know. It would be great to tag along and meet more musicians.

The style of folk/urban music I play is a little different than what most Armenians play in the US, but most of the first oud music I heard was from people like John Berberian and George Mrgdichian. It would be great to hear more of these guys in person.

Thanks Andy,

Khatchig was here just visiting. Besides John Bererian, Leo Barsamian, Mal, and Roger Derderian Costa Maniatakos was there too. By the way Mav, not too long ago we discussed Greek oud players. Take a look at this, Costa M. and Arthur Spirou. Most of these players are dedicated to nightclub oud playing. Hope you have Peter K. on the list too.
