Iraqi Maqams
I am looking for some resource on Iraqi maqams, in particular Dashte and Lami. Can anyone at least tell me the notes of these maqams?
If there is a web page that explains these maqams, I would like that very much.
Many thanks,
Sam

I have this one.
In a previous thread :

The notes of Maqam Lami are at the bottom of the sheet music.
Hope it helps.

The link provided by Wazza is no longer valid.
Here is a new one for a recording by Jameel Bashir.

Bayati on G is Bayati Nawa, but Dashte still could be the same notes as bayati on G, but with a different melodic treatment. I gave a Dashte piece a
listen earlier - it sounds very much like Lami in the way it resolves.
There has to be a page on the internet that talks about Iraqi maqams. It amazes me that I haven't found one yet

I wouldn't be so surprized that there are almost no resources on the internet about Iraqi maqams.
Dashti is one of the subsidiary maqams of Husainy.
Therefore, the scale would be similar to Husainy not bayati, small note though, Husaini on D would be Bayati on D and Rast on G, however, Dashti
usually touches bayati on G as well, making the scale bayati on D, and bayati on G, but this is just in passing, and not the main scale.
Again, besides Lami, Mukhalif, and Gulguli, Iraqi modes almost always have scales that are well known and well used in the arab world, so they aren't
as exotic as people think, the scale is the same, but the treatment is different. (Hussaini, Orfa and Dasht are all the same scale, different
treatment).
