Oud on ebay
Hi everyone,
My first post on this forum, thx to all for these precious informations about the Oud.
I've found this store on ebay CEM Music Center
What do you think about these oud (apparently not very excessive I think) for a beginner in Oud (many years in guitars) ?
thanks,
Ben

Merci

Hello Benjamain, I bought one of these ouds from CEM and I think for the money the sound is good. I replaced the pegs with rosewood and the pick
guard with plastic tortoise shell. The oud is heavier than the other Turkish ouds in my collection but it does sound good. The action on it is low the
way I like it. It could have been packed better and considering that, it arrived in great shape.

Ok, thanks a lot Andy
The original pegs slipped ?
What do you mean by "heavier than the other Turkish" ? About the sound ?
I'm sorry, I don't know lot of things about oud.

The original pegs were not as stable as I would like, yes they slipped. I replaced the pegs myself. I am refering to the weight of the oud being
heavier than what I am use to but the sound is good. Remember this though not all ouds sound 100% perfect just like any other strined instrument. I
bought an inexpensive violin a few years ago for my daughter and the teacher was amazed how good the sound was considering the price. she claimed that
the sound was as good as some of the more expensive violins that she owned. In case you are curious my CEM oud has a back made of padauk.
