Hi to all
I am a newbie to ouds and this forum. I will post some photos of an oud that I may purchase. Any help identifying its luthier, style, heritage etc.
would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Ron
To me it looks like a very basic Egyptian tourist oud. May ne playable, wouldnt imagine a great sound though. What is the price?

price is being negotiated. i won't pay more than 125 euros (it includes a soft shell case and a set of strings - but since it appears to be a tourist
oud, i probably wont pay anything.
thanks

Hello everybody,
I was hoping for more than one opinion. I see that there have been 95 views of this post. Should I assume that everyone agrees with Melbourne? A few
more responses please.
Thanks
Ron

yes Ron- that is most definitely a cheaply made tourist oud- they are for nothing more than hanging on a restaurant wall or your living room (if
you're my grandparents!).
hope that helps- dont buy it- there are plenty of great makers who offer well built student models here- just ask around- start with Haluk-

strongly agree with the others. Just a simple tourist oud.

Okay then, thanks to all for your answers. Now pray that someone outbids my early foolish 99 euro opening bid.
