Al-Mawsili 2 #1109
Hello,
i like to get some advice from you all. Nazih Ghadban has offered me to buy an oud model Al-Mawsili 2. I would like anybody who knows that model to
help me a little and write what they think of it.
I am used to play with an oud with 3 soundholes, but this model has only one - what effects (if any) and nuances does it have to the sound of the
oud.
Thank you all for your upcomming help.

J.P.:
I am the owner of Al-Mawsili 1 (you can see photos and hear a sound clip at http://www.mikeouds.com/messageboard/viewthread.php?tid=6307#pid379... ). I also own a 1910 Ikhwan Nahat, and the Ghadban is my preferred oud - that's how much I like it. The Ghadban has a great bass response - the
classic Arabic sound - but it's not too bassy. The strings in the upper register really sing and project like crazy. If I were you, I would not
hesitate to buy this oud. I don't think you'd be disappointed in the least.
Best,
Keith
