Q about buying a new oud ?
Hey everyone ..
I am going to learn Oud with a persian teacher ..
He told me that since i am arabic and the songs that i'll play
are arabic songs I must buy an arabic oud ..
My questions are :
1. Is there a big difference between arabic and persian oud school "type of playing oud thats what i mean by school" ? i mean am i going to be able to
play arabic too ?
2. What kind of oud do u recommend? i've heard iraqi or syrian oud are good for beginners ..
Waiting for u guys to answer ..
thanks ,,

If you buy a 58.5 cm. string lenght Turkish oud,you can play it both Tutkish and Arabic tune as well.
Turkish ouds a little smaller than large Arabic ouds and easy to carry and play comfortably.
Good luck.

And spend a few hours looking around these forums. You will pick up a lot of knowledge that will be very helpful in choosing your first oud.
