Necati Gürbüz oud
Hey guys,
Just thought I'd let you know some more info on the oud maker Necati Gürbüz in Izmir. I've played a few of his instruments and I'm partial to them,
so I ordered an oud from him for this summer. Should be ready to be picked up in July.
Here is his location: Necati Gürbüz Shop Location
Here is his email: Necati Gürbüz Email
When I met him last year he was very nice, and he seems pretty good about responding and discussing details about an instrument over email.
I'll let you know how the oud turned out when I get back in August.
Take care,
mavrothis

Mavrothis,
Necati's oud is very well balanced and easy to play. Between the wounded and nylon strings ,there is very nice harmony. But you should not expect very
high volume like Faruk Turunz and Sabri Goktepe ouds... But the tune is very tastefull. You will like it.
Best Wishes
Tarik

Dear Tarik,
Thank you for your response. I agree with what you describe, and I am looking forward to this instrument very much. The two ouds I have played by
Gürbüz were very nice, and I am happy that I was able to find him and be in contact (even though I don't speak Turkish).
Take care,
