Hi Muhammad,
I do recommend Dr. Atef Abdel Hameed. He specializes in oud teaching. Besides his extensive work at the Opera House and The University, Dr. Atef Abdel Hameed is REALLY passionate about restoring the classic music heritage as well as teaching young kids the oud at a very young age.
His latest work includes an excellent educational software package that is comprised of 4 volumes.
I am proud to claim that I am one of his students.
You may contact Dr. Atef via email:
atefabdelhameed@yahoo.com
Good luck!

Try to have a look at the arabic oud house, the school directed by Naseer Shamma.
It is in he House Harrawi, you will find the adress in all touristic guide book, in Al Azhar mosque area.
The lessons are 3 times a week,in afternoon, and there is many teacher there, so you my find also a teacher who learn you the style you like.

Hi Chris,
You may contact Dr. Atef for the software.
I met Dr. Atef a few weeks ago while visiting Cairo. He finished Volume 1 and is in the process of finaliing Volume 2. The plan is to produce a total of 4 volumes to accommodate all levels of performance.
Best regards,
Hatem

Christian1095, have you worked with DVD yet. How is it?

Would the Cairo Oud House be a good option if I only have time for 2-4 lessons while in Egypt?

Cheers,
Roland
