Sean,
You should really send the oud to me for a closer look.
You have an oud made by Hanna Nahat, in Damascus in 1924. The Nahat family had many oud makers, and Hanna was one of the better ones.
Please share some more pictures of the oud. We'd all love to see it. We'd also like to hear how you got your hands on it.
Cheers,
Jameel

Hi,
Could you please send a picture of the oud face and bowl. Because they are so many fake ouds in the market now a days with imaginary prices and the
label itself is not enough to to determine if the oud is orignal or fake.
The tranzilation of the label from up to down: Hanna Nahat, made on 1924, damascus. But that not enough, we must see the face and oud body to know if
it is reall or not.
Anyway, i am not nahat expert.
Thanks

1924 Hanna Nahat
I am sorry for posting a new thread , but for some reason I am able to post , but I cannot log in or respond to my original thread . Thanks Jameel ,
and Dubai244 for identify this for me . I am actually not an oud player , i am a mandolin adn guitar player , but I love and collect antique
instruments. I just found this in an antique store and thought it was interesting , and bought it . I am posting some more pics also. What would be
the value on this? It seems to be in decent condition , with afew small cracks , and it looks like the "pickguard" was probably change . Once again
thanks for your help , I am completely ignorant or , but facinated by these instruments

Hmmmmm
Its a funny one isn't it...It has some unmistakable nahatesque features, like the pegs....But the lack of purfling and inlay is very odd for a nahat,
even a basic one. For sure the raqma has been changed. Also the soundhole and fingerboard are a bit odd. Maybe Hanna never bothered to finish it

Thanks everyone for your expertise and helping me with this oud . Do you think there is much value for this oud? Should I put it on ebay ? I could use
the cash.I am in Connecticut U.S.A. , is ther anyone near me that could look at this oud? Also I found some writting on the inside on the "end
block" it is difficult to read but i will post a picture . Also I found a feather inside is some type of pick ? Thanks again,
Sean
