Fouad Jihad Oud 2005
Ok folks - after many sleepless nights I've finally decided to part with this oud to make way for a new custom made Iraqi oud.
This lovley oud was specifically made for me back in 2005 by the late Fouad Jihad. I got it through Ronny Andresson who is well know here for his
envolvement with fine Iraqi ouds.
The oud has the typical bright Bashir sound. The soundboard is made of spruce with reddish stain and the bowl is rosewood and some other species I
think maple but can't quite remember. The string length is 58.5
One thing I have to mention is that this oud arrived with a damaged pegbox. A new pegbox was made here in Melbourne by the respected luthier Ian
Watchorn - matched exactly to the original one, and there's no signs that the pegbox was changed.
I am asking $650US for this oud, a lot less than what I paid four years ago, exculding the pegbox job. Shipping is not included. There is a gash on
the soundboard near the raqma - the result of a calculator falling onto the soundboard! though sligthly visible, it has been professionally sealed
with matching laquer. There are a couple of other minor wear n tear scratches on the edges but nothing to stress about.

Hi Spyros...
Its $650US - I will try to put a sound file in the next couple of days - but its typical bashir oud sound, especailly with the shorter string
length.

I have been researching ouds, for i am in the market, and Foad Jihads Bashir ouds have been consistantly coming up.So it is a surprise to find one in

just a remider that this fine oud is STILL AVAILABLE and everyone will agree that its a very reasonable price for a Fouad Jihad. I did manage to sell
another oud I had though - as a result of the guy initially enquiring about this one! So thanks to Mike and the forums!

Hi Marina....
What is the vibrating string length on your AA oud? I've never thought about trading before, but the only hassle that comes to mind is the whole
shipping thing... I've had many potential buyers for this oud run away when I mention shipping

Yes, I understand you...I would like to buy this oud, but when I have to add anoteher 300-400$ for DHL...
But, the truth is that even 1000$ is good price for this oud. I have a few ouds ;-) so it is not time to buy another one, but to trade.

well....it took a while but this oud is now sold, and I managed to sell another oud in the process, and whats better...both found homes here in
Melbourne. Many thanks to these forums, and of course the legendary Mike without whom the oud community wouldn't be the same.
