Help with translation--old American-made oud?
Can anyone here help me translate this label?
I can pretty much figure out "the work of Tawfiq.......America 1957" but I can't make out the last name. Also, anyone know about this
maker?

Translation
Or, in non-Egyptian Arabic it would be:
El Ajharfi
It's also interesting because it says in Arabic that the year is 1942 but in English it says 57.

You're right, it doesn't comply with the Islamic calender, . The
writing was more clear that usual too!

Bill,
I believe this was a broken up oud offered at eBay. I don't have the URL but you can search eBay for Completed items under "oud" for
the last week.
Good luck
